34 & raining - we are right on the line where this could be bad.

Cold here (at least for this area). lows in the high teens/low 20s, high tomorrow of 33 but sunny and I'll be working outdoors in an underground vault tomorrow... One of my dogs predicted we'd have a cold winter this year - he shed more and for longer than he ever has in the 9 years I've had him, and so far he's been right. This is the coldest winter we've had since 2008.

68 degrees here and foggy. Thunder and lightning and LOTS of rain since Saturday. Everything is soaking, dripping wet around here.
On the other hand, it's supposed to snow a bit this weekend.

Snow possible here tomorrow. It's the standard snow forecast for Alabama. A few degrees one way or the other......rain or snow?
Then the weather guy catches hell.......

A break from snow (33" in December) but Artic and semi clear for a few days here.... -16, -14 etc. High of 5 or so, which seems balmy. Next week is a solid week of snow forecast, but 20's... whew, get out the T Shirts.... the car devils consorted and new engine, no road test, tuning issues, and I didn't get round to the drywall and garage heat (THIS YEAR!) and basically I momentarily hate Pontiacs and all cars. Happy New Year

Snowing here tonight. 32 degrees and the grass is white. Driveways and roads are just wet... so far. First snow to stick to the ground for the winter season.

The cold here continues, but supposed to warm up slightly by Saturday evening. Highs next week will be in the low 40s with rain at times. That's consistent with low snow levels in the mountains. We're getting more snow in the hills this year than we have in a decade or more.

That work in the vault on Tuesday and Wednesday? I knew I'd be splicing cables for the leak detection system for a steam line but no one told me the line was active already (brand new installation). So, I went all bundled up, flannel lined jeans, long johns, etc. expecting to freeze my butt off all day and it was almost 200 degrees in there when we first opened the lid. I could only strip down to my shirt, couldn't exactly take off the pants and longjohns so ended up practically cooking in that vault all day while the air outside was only 33 degrees... LOL. Steam in those pipes is 420 degrees and they don't wrap the valves with any insulation. I touched one by accident and instantly got a quarter sized burn on the back of my hand.

This AM we had light sleet, then VERY light snow, then before I got to our local town, it was raining. That's a pretty good mix. It's right around freezing temps in North LA--31 to 33. Looks like there's snow just to the North of us, in Ark.

Local TV predicts a low of 21 Sat AM, and 19 Sun AM. Temps don't dip into the teens very often, here.

One site shows that the average low for Monroe, LA is 36, for the month of Jan.

Our closest decent size city is Ruston. One site shows an average yearly snowfall of just over 1/2 inch, at .6".

28 degrees here in upstate South Carolina and 5.5 - 6 inches of snow last night. Should be 60 degrees by the end of the week so this won't stay around for long.
