Hi - I purchased a pair of headlight bezels from a guy who claims he got them off of 71 firebird. When they arrived I looked at the part numbers stamped on the bezels and they were different than the numbers on my old bezels. I also looked at the part number book (Detroit Iron CD), and could not find them there. Bezels fit my 70 nose just fine. Could somebody tell me what vehicle these came from or why the numbers don't match? Bezel part #:
RH 479081
LH 479082

Thanks.
Mia

I just checked the part numbers on the bezels from my '71 Trans Am and they are RH 479081 and LH 479082. My car was made at the Norwood, OH plant.

1971 Trans Am 455 HO - Cameo white
1973 Trans Am 455 - Buccaneer red
1984 Trans Am 305 - Royal blue

Thanks Dennis!
I compared the bezels with my old ones and there is a small difference in the ajusting screw openings... Why did they have two different pairs of bezels? Why could not I find them in the parts book? Does anybody have any idea?
Thanks.
Mia

My bezels also have an "E" after the part number which I assume means Revision E. I have an old dealer parts book from 1981. I'll see what part number it shows tonight.

1971 Trans Am 455 HO - Cameo white
1973 Trans Am 455 - Buccaneer red
1984 Trans Am 305 - Royal blue

The #479081-2 bezels are original for 1970 Firebirds. They were replaced by the original part number 1971-73 Firebird bezels (#483412-3) for service starting April 1971 and March 1972 respectively. Don't ask me what the difference(s) may be between them as I am not into Firebirds.

Hmmm - good to know... Part number list from Detroit Iron CD (for 1970 GTO/Firebird) does not show 479081-2 at all. It just shows 483412-3 for 70-73 firebirds...
