To do a "1/2 spacer" deal, be it 3" mains in a 3.25 block, 2.75 mains in a 3" block, etc you will need a custom cap to have the right bearing shell dimension for the smaller bearing and still have the correct dowell and bolt spacing for the basic block used. Expensive but stronger than a double spacer deal AND THE BLOCK SHELL SPACER WILL NOT TURN, GUARANTEED! LOL!

Agree with Jack.

It may benefit AP to make these. They already manufacture main caps with their blocks and there are no 3.25 main forged cranks in sight. Wonder if they ever gave it any thought.

All of the present All Pontiac blocks are 3" mains, I believe so what would the point be? They are selling lots of 4.0, 4.25, and 4.5 stroke 3" main cranks that fit their blocks just fine.

So what you are asking for is special main caps that have a revised drilling bolt pattern/dowel hole for the current factory 3.25" blocks and a block spacer so that you guys can use the 3" cranks?

Mention it to Bob and Frank.

A quick search revealed $700 for 5 steel caps from Pro Gram for the normal blocks. Doubt it would be cost effective but I'll mention it at VMP. Thanks

I've got a good 3.25 block(maybe 2) I would love a good crank for without springing for a billet. Medium HP range.

The new Pontiac 4340 shafts will be ready in about 6 weeks. They are patterned after our billet shafts and are unlike anything else on the market.

Just got off the phone with Ohio Crank about 3 weeks for a 3.25 forged crank.
