Looks like one to me. Can't read the tag, does it say for Firebird?

No. That’s for a Auto. The Muncie swivel only has two bolts that hold it to the sub frame.

if you can post the stamped (full or partial) numbers on those rods, I am sure someone can confirm it for you.

The upper rod fits all Firebird and Camaro. The Muncie swivel is also shared with both cars.

Hi Scott,
The pictures you initially posted look correct for a 69 Firebird with manual trans.
I have 4 of them here, all have provisions for 3 bolt screws to attach to the subframe.

Default Lockout id

Thanks to all that took time to post a message
To a small trivial item like this…
So
Here are a few more angles of my linkage,
My upper rod seems real straight less a soft bend
3.5” up from the adjuster some I have seen like the picture of my buddies has a bigger kink ,,,
My swivel is nearly flat looking down from the top long arm has a 1/4" offset to the frame side
I have seen a few with a good/bigger offset bend near the end for the linkage rods
Also looking from the side my swivel arms make a Y shape

Many I looked at have them at a 90 degree orientation making the rod holes farther apart
20” center to center. On long my long rod to the trans ... seems a saginaw would be shorter and 3 speed also
12.5 end to center on vertical column rod

What are yours??? When you have time

Scott

So
A friend sent this picture of his original from his 69 RAIV TA. Just to liven up the discussion

His has 2 bolts and looks like his upper has a bigger bend farther up

The swivel looks a bit diff its brackets are at a 90 degree not a Y like mine ,,,,

And looks like I may have my rods in the wrong holes ????

Hi Scott,
I tried to crawl under the cars but cant get a useful pic
Attached is a pic of the 69 Service manual
This pic agrees with the layout of the reverse lockout on my two 69 4 speed cars (RAIII with M21 and RAIII w/M20)
Hope that helps,
Steve

Thank you for the picture !!
I Just returned from getting my manuals and took a couple pictures also here’s a couple pictures of the linkage in a different direction similar to the manual thank you Steve as you stated and as the book shows it’s a Y On the idler leveler and my idler lever has the same shape and kinks as in the manual picture also has three mounting bolts the vertical lever to the column has a slight kink about 3 inches up and then straight just like mine and the reverse back Drive linkage rod has the same wiggles also so I think we’re getting really close with any of those 69‘s come with a two bolt support assembly just curious or the vertical steering column rod with a little bit bigger band in the middle thank you kindly don’t need to be touched up too much but just curious

Scott;

Those two in the middle look like second gen Firebird three speed reverse rods.

https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...9&d=1646612656

I had recently been sorting my own manual transmission shift linkage;
I was hoping to figure out if I had any correct second gen Firebird Muncie four speed linkage (which I do not).

I’d be interested in knowing the build date on the cars . The 69RAIv w the two bolts and the 69 RAIII w the 3 bolts.

One of mine has 5290 on it and an S on the other side, this is not the bracket that bolts to the car (3 bolt by the way) but the part that swivels. Onto that piece .
