So where will a Funny car fit in at the Norwalk race? Who will we be racing or do we need to bring our own match race? I have never been to Norwalk so i don't know what classes are run and where the car will fit.

The Q-16 is your only available (or viable) option...unless you talk to Pete about getting booked in for exhibition runs.

Yeah Scott, Like I referred to earlier, there is no unlimited class at this event.

I doubt you want to run in the Q16

Seems like they have a bracket funny. Would be cool to see for sure.

That thing is pretty darn consistant. Put it in the no-box bracket class. Although you may run out of fuel waiting for the other car to get their headstart down the track.

How many "unlimited" Pontiac powered cars are there in the USA, or on the planet for that matter?

One rail - Steve's
One flopper - Scott's
And a handful of door cars that in recent years can't even fill the 4 car "Butler Frantic 4" class at Norwalk

Gotta' have more "unlimited" cars than that before a racing class can be built around them. Besides...a car like Steve's could be making approximately $3500 for two exhibition runs (plus tow money if negotiated through a one time local sponsor) at an event like Norwalk. Not going to get rich like that, but would certainly cover the costs of such a trip.

No way I'll have either car done by August. But at least I'm planning to be there this year. Except this year I had to wuss out and get a room at a B&B so the girlfriend can feel comfy. Never took in the night life at the track any of the years before. Is this normally a overall track party or just groups here and there?
The B&B was just a little more and will have a breakfast for us. At least if we get up in time......she likes to drink beer and sometimes stay up late. Just cant get her to camp though.

What ever happened to the "frantic 4" race? Wouldn't his car be eligible for that? Memory serves me correct I thought it was meant for any bodied car using any power adder as long as it was a pontiac design block.

Gotta' be a door car. Scott's car has no doors. I think the original intent of the class was so no dragsters could enter.

Scott,
Like they said, probably the quick 16. I suspect the bump will be faster than it was last year and I was the bumpee at 8.54 so your wait will probably be under 2 seconds.

Bill (500Plus) has been working like a mad man on his nostalgia 68 Funny Bird and if all goes as planned he'll be bringing it to Norwalk for some Q16 action

Funny cars would be on the dragster side of the class.

Hi Dave,

Hope all is going well with you. You need to update your fastest Pontiac list as our best pass to date was a 7.53 @ 184. You'll have to update it again soon because we are defenitly going to go a tad bit faster than that ....Neway take care and talk to you soon
