Default Pontiacs in the Park at VMP

Pontiacs in the Park was Great today. If you can come on Sunday you will have a good day at the track.

The car show had 50 to 60 cars in it. The Auto Cross was going all day. And the lanes were full most of the time.

BBQ was great, so was the band, ( to loud for me)

I was great to see everyone again.

BTW the Dirty Bird put on a hell of a show.

At times we had 50 people around the car.

The weather was great too. Sunday will be the same.

Did I Rub it in just a bit more?

i hope everybody is enjoying the event. i wish i would have been there the last few years to support jim's hard work.

quick story that sums up all you need to know about zeek. at the first couple of events i had plenty of time and $$ to spare (wouldn't a little of both be nice now?) so i was up there early and went in to watch people i knew in the HPP shootout. i had never met jim before but i volunteered to do anything i could to help out. i ended up doing a couple of little odd jobs, nothing major, but jim never failed to thank me and mention how much he appreciated my help.

turns out PIP 2006 was not my lucky weekend. on the way up there i lost a truck tire in south carolina but managed to avoid a major mishap. while there i nearly lost my almost new fiberglass hood due to wind. luckily tom vaught and a couple of others were standing in front of the car with me checking some stuff out in the engine bay and we managed to "catch" the hood in mid-air. the fun really started on my way home. i pulled into a gas station in north carolina on sunday night that was right next to a hotel i wanted to stay in. the station was a little smaller than what i usually use when pulling the trailer but it was right next to the hotel so i pulled in. turns out the space between pumps was a little too tight and i wadded up the right rear trailer tire and rim trying to back out. so instead of spending the night and hitting the road early the next morning for a relaxing drive home i had to back the car off the trailer in the gas station parking lot, then find a trailer repair shop that i could limp into the next morning to have the repairs done.

anyway, i guess i made a post about my trouble on the board from the hotel, because no sooner do i get home late monday afternoon than my phone rings with a number i don't recognize. it was jim calling to make sure i made it home ok. i have no idea how he got my number, but he took the time to check on my after what i'm sure was a very tiring weekend putting on the event. just goes to show you that not everybody from pennsyltucky is a douche-bag.

I had planned to be there. However, my swim pool liner failed a few weeks ago(moles had tunneled underneath the pool) I lost 14000 gallons of water and my septic failed 1 week later. Really put a dent in the fun budget. Glad you guys are there and its going well. I look forward to the upcoming tales of the weekend!

Rumair, you are so right about Jim Zeek. Super nice guy that will do anything for you if he can.

I would love to be up there, but it just hasn't been in the cards for me, yet.

A couple of years ago PontiacZone.com sponsored a heads up race, that's
when I got to know Jim Zeek. One of the most accommodating guys you ever
want to meet. So it's no surprise to me that everyone finds a very hard working
guy. That's what makes people want to come back year after year.

Thanks Jim for all your efforts, believe you me it's well appreciated.
