Pushrod length for this arrangement is 9.950". At this point a head gasket is not in place so that makes the pushrod right at 10".
Agree the o-rings around the pushrod would be a very difficult proposition to maintain seal and or provide support for pushrod. As measured at the top of intake port, the intake pushrods on this setup moves +/- .015" (toward the rocker stud) during the full sweep of the 1.65:1 Crane rocker with a .420" roller lobe. Exhaust pushrod holes were located similarly (in line with rocker stud opening) but did not line up as well. Will move over about .100". See attached. |

Test fitted what I believe to be an original RA V guide plate on the heads. The stud placement on the Alum V head is definitely in a different location than these guide plates.

I'm waiting to see what Lynn does for an intake, like to order a complete top end, but it's gotta fit under a FGF hood. Wish he'd uptake his intake progress... |

I am interested in the intakes as well. I am in the same boat. I need to fit under a 400 style hood.

Yike guys, I have stated several times that our single 4 barrel will fit under the stock hood. Dont know why that word isnt getting out? Please tell me where I am failing?
It also has a 4150 or a 4500 flange. We also have a fuel injection system(including intake) that has 1100cfm to 2000 cfm. We are currently getting started on our aftermarket block (All Pontiac) 535 cu in crate motor twin turbocharged with fuel injection 2000 cfm. It will have our newly designed tubular factory exhaust manifolds with forward mound dual turbos. This will incllude air inlet mapping just like the 3.8 V-6 (691HP with 22 lbs of boost). We forecast 1600HP with a street buiild up, reasonble street cam profile, and minimal boost. With this set up we should be able to do double that initial HP setting.

Lynn,
I've believed you about it fitting. But given the amount of Race only interest, boosted interest etc... for your heads I'm waiting to see that you do in fact make the single intake, that there's enough interest for you to make it. The heads do me no good without one, and believe me, I want your V top end on my V block instead of my 48's. Should be a killer street 433 I've waited this long, I can wait a little longer. |

im really not sure what everyone is expecting? Are you looking for 500 CFM heads?Im sure if you contact Jim he can give you a good number where they can end up.I think 400s will be no problem,my street port heads have been in the 380 plus range with 2.19 intakes and smallish bores. We have found the intakes are the choke,Vs like the 3 Cs like most engines. All my engines have been pump gas street engines.Being in the race section,15-1 with a dual quad tunnel ram and enough cam they will make big HP.Tom
