We met a lot of Pontiac fans during the 8 years we sold our shirts at Pontiac venues, it was a great experience. The problem was we never got time to see the shows, and races we attended, plus it was a lot of work setting up a booth, and tearing down after the event was over. Now we go to the event, and have time to see the cars, and watch the racing.....

Sorry for the hijack, that grand daughter has a great head of hair.....LOL

She did that, I’m sure I said that, the State Police Officer told her the video showed that she paused when she approached the intersection, at 6:00am there were very few cars on that intersection. It was also dawn and just getting light out. His older Ford Explorer did not have auto headlights and he did not have them manually turned on his car also being light green blended in with the row of trees along that side of the road. Being car people, and she is also has a 99 WS6 TA that was the Owner of this forums car, she is extra careful especially with my Granddaughter in the car.

He did everything wrong, she did not. I get what you’re saying been there myself, but unless you know this intersection, as we do, it’s hard to explain her not seeing him before crossing. He was just there in the blink of an eye.

FWIW, I didn't take that comment as a criticism. My comment wasn't intended that way either. Just general safety talk.

I didn’t take it as such either that’s why I said “I get what you’re saying” in my post reply Obviously I wasn’t there so I cannot say what in fact she did or did not do at that moment, I just know how careful she is because she has a certain respect for safety with her cars. It’s all good. she may have turned her head for a split second and thought he was stopped who knows. If that’s what happened, I’d bet she looks longer next time. We all get lax at times especially since that was her route 5 days a week twice a day. Not anymore though!

Wow, that is scary that the fuel tank came off. I have never seen that before. Kind of scary to think about. Could have been another accident.

Thank you all, for the kind words. Miranda was a member here, but does not visit here much anymore just the tech forums. She has asked I thank you all who took the time to wish her well. She is doing better physically everyday, but still she’ll shocked and a bit scared to drive again. Thank you all!

About ten years ago, I was sitting at a stop light where two four lane roads intersected just before dark. I was driving my 2002 WS6 T/A convertible and had the top down. The lght turned green, but I could hear the roar of a car with a loud muffler coming up fast. I paused, but the young girl beside of me didn't. She pulled into the intersection just as a lifted Jeep with huge tires entered the intersection and hit her small Honda. The Jeep was a CJ7, and flipped onto its side and slid into a pole on the other side of the road. The girl was terrified and the young guy driving the Jeep was shaken up, but there were no serious injuries.

The cops arrived and the Jeep driver tried to say he had the green light. I told the cops we had the green light, but since my top ws down I heard his engine revving up and his tires roaring as he gunned it to make it through the intersection. The cops gave him a ticket, and I later got a call from both insurance companies. If I had the top up, a/c on, and radio on, it could have been me.

MA glad today's safety devices worked for you guy's. Only thing that's still a problem and everybody knows are the drivers. Suggest buying another Jeep.

Wow, glad they are both ok, we have a Bad intersection like that here as well, and ya I take a second look to make sure traffic is
stopped and proceed slowly, but like you said we get lax when we do this drive daily. Don't think I have ever seen fuel tank come off before,
that could have been bad. Again Glad they are ok.

I was behind 3 other vehicles in my Ford Ranger, and my Best Man in my wedding (and his son) were directly behind me.

My Best Man started blowing his horn, I looked in the mirror, just in time to see a young woman plow into my Best Man's Chevy Impala,
who ran into me, and I hit the car in front of me. We were all stopped as the lead car (3 cars ahead) was turning into a parking lot.

It turned out the Woman in the car that did the damage was talking on the phone and plowed into the string of cars at 40 mph.
(Speed limit was 35). And we were stopped.

She had dropped her phone and was reaching for it when she plowed into us.

And one strap on the Impala did shear but the tank stayed in place.

So we survived a similar close call with the fuel tank.

I hope Miranda recovers 100 of her functionality after the accident.

Tom V.

309 through Montgomeryville absolutely blows. Glad we moved away from that traffic!

At 6am she was lucky no one was coming the other way as her Jeep was flipped and skid across oncoming traffic lanes on the other side of the road. That road is a big tractor trailer route.

Scary stuff thank you, she will be OK as time passes, it will also make her even more aware of others on the roads that are not paying attention. We’re still waiting on if his cell pinged at the time of impact. The video footage sad a lot on who was the cause, he did run a red light, and never tried to brake.
