Doesn’t the front wheel well remind you of the “Copper Caddy”? Wonder if Dave was copying . . . .?

He may have taken inspiration from the 1954 Buick Wildcat II. I'm pretty sure there are other cars that also had that reverse cove detail on the front wheelwells, although I can't recall exactly at the moment.
