Default JUST ADDED

Special Announcement to the 2018 GTOAA International Convention:
Just added to the Special Display Field in the concours arena:

1964 PONTIAC BANSHEE PROTOTYPE-XP-833
This is the only 1964 Banshee coupe in the world.

Designed by GM Executive John DeLorean to compete with Ford’s Mustang, the Banshee prototype was killed by GM brass as they viewed the concept would hurt Corvette sales. The Banshee was supposed to be scrapped but a GM employee convinced GM to sell him the car. The car was driven less than 1500 miles.

The car boasts a sweeping hood, short deck styling, with a 2200 pound fiberglass body over steel under-body. The styling cues influenced GM cars in the future like the 1968 Corvette and many future GM products to come. This rare car is all original just the way the prototype was developed. This museum piece has been in all history books of GM since 1964.

Make sure you register for the Convention so you can get an up-close look at this rare car. For most, it may be he only chance you will ever get to see it.

Dave

We're in the mid 80's for concours, and we're still getting inquires for the concours showfield. We have quite a few Original Owner cars, and over a dozen display cars, I don't have the updated numbers yet but total outdoor cars are in the 160 neighborhood and there are still regs coming in. Our chairmen are getting bombarded with car registration inquiries. total of 20 pop vote classes, Just GTOs? I don't have that data but there are classes for them in pop vote and indoors are filled with GTOs. If many of the inquiries turnout to be registers we could be in the upper 200s total cars. Time will tell.

Default concours cars

After the concours judging on Thursday, will the cars remain inside or be able to leave? I'm arriving on Friday and was wondering if I would not see all the concours cars.

They must have changed the forecast I just rechecked it supposed to be nice all week chance of a late day T-storm Thursday, there is always a chance of that with temps in the 90's.....

You can get your packet any time. If it were me I'd get it beforehand. Friday is pop vote day, no tech in you may want to get there real early for picture of your car or bring it earlier in the week to be tech'd and photo'd then bring it back early Friday.
