Default Air rifle repair

Does anyone know someone that can repair a Feinwerkbau 124 sport pellet rifle? It needs a new piston seal at the least. Would prefer to find someone in Wisconsin if possible.

I found several places to get the parts. I have very little knowledge about air rifles. It looks like there is a spring compressor needed to disassemble this and I would prefer that someone that has the experience to do it and look it over to see if anything else is needed.

A gunsmith should be able to take care of it for you.

Talked to a couple gunsmiths and they don’t work on air guns. I did find a guy in northern Illinois that is close enough to drive to, but he doesn’t accept walk in customers and would have to ship it to him. I will most likely ship it to Baker air guns

That is a very nice "Springer". I have one as well. However I am heavy into PCP's, FX in particular. I still shoot a BSA r-10 that I bought from TomS here on the forum, it is shot pretty much daily for pesting birds. It has been an excellent pellet pusher (Thanks Tom ! ). As for fixing yours, reach out to the contacts attached.

I did hear from another local gunsmith that was willing to look at it, but being a somewhat collectible gun I would rather send it to someone familiar with it. I would also like to find a period correct scope for the gun if possible.

I bought a new seal for my 124 and found an on-line tutorial on how to do the job. I made a crude spring compressor out of some 2 by 4 and threaded rod. Took longer to make the compressor (about an hour and a half) than it took to overhaul the rifle (that took less than an hour). It's not a hard job. The new seals are synthetic and won't degrade like the originals. You will need to order some of the tar-like spring grease to apply to the spring for dampening purposes. Mine now shoots as good as ever, and I didn't have to worry about sending my mint 124 Deluxe across country. Check out the on-line information...it isn't rocket science.

Good thread ! Got me to think'in "bout my OLD Crossman 22 cal air rifle which hasn't worked since I can't remember.
Got it Brand New when I was 12 years old, (do the math)
Contacted my local gun shop (he's a car guy) and he gave me a number 30 miles away.
I'll keep ya updated.

One of the most accurate firearms of any kind I've ever owned was an unusual model of Crossman .22 cal CO2, full walnut stock, built like a "real" gun. If I remember right it was pump action with a small revolver type magazine for the pellets. With a 4x scope you could knock walnuts off a tree all day long at 100 feet. Probably just got a good one, but it was uncanny accurate.

Found it ... a model 622.

I had a circa 1970 Crosman 1400 .22 Pumpmaster I bought used in '74. Pneumatic pump gun, about 800 FPS and had a Weaver 4x scope on it. Very accurate, very powerful. Used it for squirrel hunting and it was very effective. Crosman made some very high quality air rifles back then. Still have the Sheridan Blue Streak that I got used in '76 (it's a '72 model) and it still shoots great with the Williams peep sight.

Just a follow up. I got the gun back and all is good. Put a scope on it and got it sighted in. I’m surprised at the amount of recoil this thing has for an airgun. I’m wondering if this gun was modified before. There is a hand etched number on the barrel and when Baker tested it after replacing the seals it shot 1100 fps I thought they more in the 850 range.

Got mine back yesterday. Gunsmith told me 7-8 pumps is plenty.
But after shooting my 30.06 I was braced for a recoil. NOT.
Good thing I wasn't wearing ear protection, I wouldn't have thought it fired.
Shot 3 times , hit 1 hole twice. I'm happy.

It's a Crossman "140"
