Conflicts about the AIR lingo
WT is not an AIR / Cali emissions code Its the 49 state code No AIR equipment or breather present It sits all correct for a 49 state WT car though. as-is Some sellers/hobbyists call all Fremont cars - California Cars only the ones sold new in California - are true term california cars. Not many sold outside of Cali with the AIR stuff Ask for copy of the PHS Billing History Card It will spell out the as-built engine code. It should also give the EUN (numbers stamped above WT) those should match each other Mostly saying - you better triple check everything someone like that states in their ads. The incorrect trim rings and blackwall tires make it look on-the-cheap. Some underhood wiring looks on-the-cheap too. Just things that can indicate other short-comings. I think the red lugnuts have been deemed an urban myth also Car looks like a good car though, but not completely up to the price point they are at. imo Verify colors on PHS the trim tag looks a little wishy washy, but i'm not in touch with Fremont tags here in NC, it just looks odd. A real nice Montreaux Blue/White/White HO WS 360hp 4spd Convertible with good options just sold recently for $25,000 in Virginia. That was a super smoking hot deal Too bad you couldn't have grabbed that one |

Or even better yet , order your own PHS if you are seriously interested.
Things are getting worse and worse about fudged documents |

I'm not a 67 expert but lots of things stand out to me.
Carpet not laid down correctly. Bunched up behind shifter, crooked under heater. Quarter window weather-stripping missing bottom half, top weather-stripping has gaps Wrong master cylinder Engine wiring makes me nervous Cheap Goodyear tires Plus everything mentioned above For $57k this car should be excellent needing almost nothing. This one is 30-35K at most in my book and that's before inspection. But its a dealer so it's marked up quite a bit.

Hmmm. Seller says it has black leather interior. How could you go wrong at that price with black leather?
Door gaps on passenger side are off a bit. These places that sell cars either on consignment or from their showrooms/lots don't really know what they have or are looking at as someone that was a "GTO," "Chevelle," "442," "Hemi," etc. type enthusiast or collector. All they are doing is flipping the car to make a commission or profit. They only know what they are told and then do some basic background checking to throw together an ad. When it begins with, "*super RARE, NO RUST anywhere, most likely you will NOT find another like this condition" either get ready to bend over or run like hell. My opinion, run. But if you have the liquid assets and the amount does not make you flinch, buy it and enjoy it. |

I think the car looks solid- I would inquire about who built the engine and who painted it.
I would not want the same guy that taped those wires together to build the motor or paint it. But- if they can tell you who built the motor and painted it they may warranty it. |

Windshield wiper blades attached to arms are part's store replacements. The convertible stainless beltline behind the back glassine plastic window has snaps. 67s did not have these. The drivers seat cushion bottom is bunched up/loose. The dash bezels have not been restored. Maybe it's just me,but the placement of the GTO emblem in the front left grill looks "off". This is what, taken together with the observations made above,I spotted quickly. This car was not refurbished by GTO detail oriented craftsmen. I'd be careful.

I agree with the points posted above, and I'll add the following.
Two pictures of the rt. quarter concern me. The contours between the wheel and bumper just look off to me. It looks too flat as it leaves the wheel opening. All of that would have me checking for a badly installed rear quarter patch panel or a bad collision repair. The lack of pictures showing inside the trunk could be another tip off. I would ask for those with the spare and mat absent, plus pictures of the lower quarter flanges and rear wheel lip flanges. |

I'm highly skeptical. Note the 68 timing cover and the location of the block casting.
Yeah, could be coincidences, but the engine code's font is also wrong for 67 as well. |

This car presents pretty well. Terrible write-up, typical of a dealer with endless mistakes. Lots of little detail issues and well picked-out above. Asking price at the very top of the market. They may sell it at 40-42K since it's a convertible. For comparison sake, take a look at the gold 66 hardtop someone else was asking about in an above thread. Asking 50K for it and a much nicer car IMO. I understand it's a hardtop and not red, and a 66, but look at the fit, finish, trim, and other details. I would rate the red car a solid #2, 2- car. The gold 66, a 1-. JMO.
