Default Chrome!

The chrome is amazing on the car, all original I assume. My 66 chrome has not held up as well. How is the chrome on vent windows? Mine is a Fremont car lived most of its life in bay area, but still some pitting on vent windows. The worn keys are awesome given the story, keep the pics coming

All of the chrome appears to be original and it is pretty nice. There is some pitting on the lower areas of the bumpers, but not bad. As for the vent window chrome, they are both pretty bad where the inner areas meet the weatherstrips. The weatherstrips are hard and brittle as well, but not bad enough to change them.

I've had fair results with WD-40 on softening hard rubber if it's not too far gone.
That car is looking absolutely fantastic after the cleanup. Looks like the Americans have the spokes painted body color?

Thank you for the tip, I'll give that a try.
Thanks, I'm having fun cleaning it up! They're a lighter color gold, but they do look good on the car. They too need a good cleaning and polishing.

#40 is great stuff! I've been using that for years on my interiors, but never even thought about using it on weatherstips. Thanks for that, I'll try it when I start on the interior.

The 303 vinyl and rubber protectant is also very good although I've never tried it for restoring aged, brittle rubber

Your car is looking absolutely amazing. Nice work! Good to see a classic go to 'the right guy'.

Default Some new outside photos today.

Thanks again for the compliments, its coming along nicely. Today I worked on the dash mostly, removed that old yellow upper dash insulation that was crumbling all over the place and then removed the old Sun tach to reinstall the "dummy" plate. Cleaning/conditioning the seats and door panels with Meguiar's #40 is next on the list.

Default Interior from today.

Looks much better without that tach sticking out of the far right pod.

Default Soft Trim Broadcast Sheet

I found this lying on the floor under the back seat the other day. I can decipher some of it. Anyone know what the two-letter codes in boxes 78 - 87 are in reference to?

Looks like I may be able to save the original paint on the wheels that were sprayed over with black paint by the original owner. My friend suggested trying lacquer thinner and it worked quite well. I carefully removed a layer at a time and it all wiped off. I then used a paint cleaner and wax over that. They wont be perfect, but at least will remain original paint this way. Also cleaned up one of the worst caps, that came out nice too.
