66 trunk paint
Does anyone know if the spatter paint was originally applied to the package tray cross braces that the trunk divider board rests against?

Mine did before I took it apart for restoration, but it seemed like more of an overspray situation rather than being intentionally painted like the rest of the trunk interior. It wasn't anywhere near as thick on the cross-bracing, kinda like a dusting.

Here's a couple pictures from a 35,000 mile GTO built in Pontiac.

Odd. The original trunk splatter paint in my '66 GTO was much lighter in color than what is shown in the photos you posted. And my GTO was also built at the Pontiac, MI plant. I guess there must've been some variation in the paints used throughout production.
