Today, I had time to trace the two wires connected to the POSITIVE terminal of the battery. One goes to the electric choke (on the carb) and the other red wire (thicker) goes to the engine side of the fuse box, On the interior side of the fuse box, I don't know where this thicker red wire goes. I'll try to figure this out the next chance I get.

The 1st pic shows the choke, the 2nd pic shows the fuse box engine side, the 3rd pic shows the fuse box interior side.

If the choke is wired directly to the battery and not through switched power that could be what is drawing your battery down as it will be supplied with power all the time.

The other red wire....not sure on that one. Make sure you check where that wire is going to.

Agree on the choke wiring...should be wired to a circuit that is live only when the ignition is on.
