Why, you ask? I suppose because the Mustang is a hot seller, and name recognition matters at a time when people have memories that last only 15 seconds, or until the next Facebook post appears. I think it's a smart move, but time and sales will tell.

IMO there’s al ready a Mustang, why badge this new model with something that is nothing even close to being a Mustang? Why not give it its own name plate? We all know this new breed of cars is quickly approaching however give them their own name not use a model name on something that is completely different. I don’t care for it.

Looks like a newly styled crossover (maybe upgraded focus). Not even close to a mustang.

A nice looking car. Now if the price was under $30k that would be great. I have warmed up to the idea of an electric car (everytime I pull up to the gas pump). As a Mustang owner, I'm not sure about the name choice though, But I would assume that it is being marketed to a generation that has only had 4 door cars (Camrys and accords, etc.) so a recognizable name makes sense. In my day, 4 door cars belonged to grandma's for going to church on sundays!

Or in my Husbands case, 6 kids, and 2 adults who went to Church every Sunday in one car, always a full size Pontiac. People had big families years ago.

I’m not against an electric car, just the badging. They should have their own designation in my opinion.

Ford has really been dropping the ball lately.

This thing takes the cake.

Mustang my a**! All it is is a renamed Focus with battery power. Looks like the biggest change is the frontend. A real POS with batteries.

Where's the Energizer Bunny hiding? LOL

What I see here is a total POS with a familiar name.

Move along, nothing to see here..

In my mind this vehicle diminishes the Mustang moniker. If I had a real Mustang, I'd be unhappy at them expropriating the name for a plebe-mobile.

If that's what they're calling a Mustang now, I don't want to see what they release as the Bronco next.

This is not new news.
Ford and GM have made it public for awhile now that they are going to phase out sedan's for only trucks & SUV's
I've seen the SUV Mustang before but the all electric component is new.
