Hi all,
Weird problem. With door open, I get dome light but no underdash courtesy light. With door closed, I get the underdash courtesy light on, dome light turns off. Turning the dash light switch will turn on the dome light with the door closed, no effect on courtesy light. (Stays on unless I open door). I assume this is a bad ground somewhere but not sure. Only one wire running to the door switch. Is that right? Weird. Thanks!

Typically, the door switches just provide a ground for the light when you open the door. So, one wire is right.

Courtesy lights miswired? IIRC the courtesy lights have an orange and white wires. The orange goes to fused power and the white to the door switch circuit.

Door closed, dome light can back feed through courtesy lights when the courtesy light fuse is blown.
The shared ground makes it tricky Clay |
