Default Weld window?

I was cleaning up the driver side window preparing to reinstall it. I noticed that on the forward end there were three spot wells that were completely broken loose so that end is not attached to the window frame. Do you think I could put three tac welds on each side of about one second each without breaking the window?

Are these pieces plated or galvanized? - if so, no.

No, just looks like 18 gauge metal crimped over the bottom of the window with dried out brittle rubber between the glass and the channel.

On second look, maybe it is galvanized. I used the Dremel tool with a small cutting wheel to clean off the rust, I think I took off any galvanized coating with it. I will post a couple pics so you can tell me what you think.

You have to take some precautions, but I've welded galvanized many times. Prefer to use MIG if possible as it keeps you farther away from the fumes. Always best to get as much of the zinc off as you can.

If you've got enough contact area it's also possible it could be mended with epoxy.

I just finished welding the window on my 67 GTO. I think it was a total success! I got about four tacs on each side. It seems to be Welded. We’ll see if it survives the install.
Thanks everybody for your help
