VERY cool SD Formula, Rick.

Needs a resto, but it's NOT bad.

Talking

Man, it amazes me how many SD cars are in Michigan! I've never seen this one but it's pretty cool. Too bad there aren’t any SD's elsewhere in the country....

I talked to the seller right after The Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race this fall. It has been in Michigan for a while with the previous owner here as well. Lots of parts to go with the car many NOS - Was to see the car a couple a weeks ago, just wish the timing was better.

I think he is looking for 40 for the car. I wonder what the value of that car restored is. I would think its worth at least what a ta auto sd is worth.

I can remember seeing this car and talking to owner at the time while cruising around town in the early 80's in the St.Louis area.It still had the dog dish hub caps on it back then.I use to buy quite a few parts at Huebler Pontiac were that 74 SD Formula was sold .

might have sold off eBay but if he was looking for anywhere near $40k as said above, it didn't come close. I would agree it should be worth the same restored and a similarly restored auto '74 SD T/A's but considering how rare this car is, maybe more to the right collector. I have a hard time getting a handle of what the '74's are worth as one will go for mid $50's one week and then others will scare six figures. Granted the level of restoration and colors/options is usually the difference, but still the range is pretty broad. I think if he reruns it with better pics it might get more interest, not to mention it seems to help if you word the auction title so the car shows up in the T/A section.

I offered him 29500 for the car which is felt for fair for the car. If it was a TA in the same condition I would not have offered as much.

What I was trying to say was, Given the rarity of the car, and coupled with the 455 SD, I figured he would get what he wanted for the car.
Maybe during the summer.........

He is not going to get 40k for a car that needs resto.

For a TA he would have
Now don't go nuts on me, I know this SD Formy is WAY more rare than a 74 SD TA,but the SD TA's are what people pay for,not saying they're right,it's just the market.
I think that 74 SD Formy is a damn good investment over the next 5 yrs,how many SD Formy's in 74 were made with a column shift?!?!!????????????????//

Rare, and desirable, are not always the same. There's a reason why column shift cars are rare...

I think this was a really neat car, and I always stop and look at curiosities like it when they are at Pontiac events. But if I were in the market for an SD, this wouldn't have been the one I'd want to invest a ton of $/hours restoring.
