If you can post a picture of the way you did your fuel lines for the tri-power.
It looks great.

I've got a Mallory 140 electric pump and regulator, 1/2"/-8AN feed and return lines. The tripower lines are repro lines with the distribution block on upside down to clear the RA pan. That attaches to a flare to AN adapter, and then it's -6AN braided down to the regulator.
I'll see if I can find some pictures.... Here's one from the passenger side... Here it is with the RA pan in place. The regulator is down where the mechanical fuel pump would be..... |

Tripower, you have yourself one sweet ride shaping up there. i love the pro-touring route you're taking. how was your overall tranny install? i sometimes think about swapping in an od unit since the muncie is very tired in my car.

You should feel like you're at work in the cockpit with all those gauges! Which one is the artificial horizon? Looks great man! |

Well, I am heading out to the shop today, and, for the first times since I have owned this car (8+ years!), I will DRIVE IT under it's own power!
It still needs an alignment and I need to get smaller tires, but I am going to drive it around the parking lot at the shop today.... I am psyched! |

I have to say that white intieror is the best on those bright colors. What size wheel and tire package is on it now? I kind of like the beefy tires under there but I bet they scrub. Way to go. Good luck on that first drive.

WOW!!! LOOKS NICE....
HAVE A QUESTION ON THE AC...I HAVE 66 GTO OCNV ORIG AC CAR AND HAVE REMOVED THE AC BOX AND SMOOTHED THE FIREWALL AND PAINTED TO MATCH THE BODY IN ORDER TO PUT A CLEANER AC SYSTEM IN. DOES THE MAJORITY OF THE SYSTEM RESIDE UNDER THE DASH?

I didn't drive it! I don't want to mess up anything, so until we get the tire situation figured out, I'll have to wait.

The rears are no problem on 15x8 with 5" backspace, but the fronts rub in the outer rear part of the tire on 15x7 with 4.5" backspace. I think 4 3/4" backspace will clear, but I am going to try a smaller tire. Also, the front springs are way too short, and they are '66 A/C springs..... There is a pair of 215s on it right now, and they are close to rubbing the top of the wheel opening, but the backspacing is messed up on the rim that it's on. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Jrkd: WOW!!! I opted to not fill the original heater box holes, in case I ever want to put it back to stock...... |

Tripower, the springs might be the key.
I have the 235 x 60 x15 on my car and I have no issues with clearance.

We are going to try different springs. The ones I have look like they've been cut, and they were new out of the box from Moog. What backspacing are you running with your's? |

Can you tell me more about the Vintage Air system on your car. Did it come complete, with brackets and all? I have a 59 Catalina that will be getting a 455 with AC. I don't want to use an original AC compressor, because they are so big. I am looking for a unit to that will be relatively easy to install.
My last question is it looks like you had to adapt the AC contols in your dash. Was the unit you installed made for your 66? Any help would be great. Great car! |

I modified the Vintage Air 49110-SHQ dash controls to fit into the '66 dash. It was real close out of the box. I had to remove a few thousandths from the top and bottom of the Vintage control. I made the cover plate out of the same type of aluminum that I used for the backing for my dash veneer, and covered it with matching veneer. |

Well, I finally got to drive the car, albeit only around the parking lot! The new smaller tires are going on tomorrow, and I'll get to drive it around on the street next week. It's pretty sweet!
