Thanks, that makes a lot of sense.

Dale,
Well done I have enjoyed reading your thread great attention to detail. You have a well thought out and sorted out project and clearly think outside the box when working on a solution. Your car is a great looking old American car that still looks original and has been updated and modified to your taste.
Your paint color is nice as well when I saw it I thought it looked similar to the paint color (Dodge Viper Red) on my car.

Bob,
Thanks, I appreciate that. I have put a lot of thought into everything I have done. It was my goal that the car still look stock to the casual person but be a better car. I had actually looked at the Viper Red as a choice.
Here is a video from the other day when I started it. The car actually sounds better in person than it does in the video, but it gets the point across.

You have a nice looking car as well.

I'm getting there. I finally have the Vintage A/C in and done, the Retro stereo and Pioneer Amp, the kick panel speakers, carpet, door panels, and the shifter. Hopefully tomorrow I might be able to start on the rear seats.

The A/C was for my wife. The five speed was for me. But the two of them will make the car a lot nicer on long trips.

Needless to say I probably won't park next to a 1988 Buick Century with the headliner falling down in the Walmart parking lot, but I do plan on driving it. And yes, I probably will freak the first time it gets a rock chip. I don't even like to drive my regular car in the rain because then I have to wash it

The interior is finally done. All I need to do now is touch up some paint on the frame from where I nicked it, lower the front by 2" (it was originally 3.5" too high so it has came down 1.5" adding everything), get a front end alignment, and detail the car because it is filthy. And then I hope nothing goes wrong when I drive it, but who am I kidding, of course things will go wrong

The Pro90 front seats turned out pretty well. They are a little taller and just a touch more narrow than the stock seats, but I think I will get used to it. My wife likes the idea that they recline.
