TH350
hi guys
latest project is a 69 bird. was a 6cyl, putting in a mild 400. also was a column shift car, i am installing a floor shift and console. i separated the trans from old 6 cyl yesterday to take it in for a rebuild. do i have any issues moving this trans from a 6 cyl to a V8? V8 should be around 350-400 HP and will be street driven only. The trans shop has done good work for me before. my plan is to put in a mild shift kit and get a converter in the 2200-2500 rpm range. i have learned that i need to keep the steering column linkage intact and connected to shift lever on trans. Do i need a different shift lever to add the cable from the floor shifter? also i am intending to re-use the original steering column that was column shift. i plan to remove it, take out the shift lever, remove the shift indicator and some how patch over the holes, then paintit all. it is a tilt column and is in good shape. any one been down this road before? thanks
