I'm with rohrt......if you want the original look the wheel covers say it's an original car...perfect for a 60's style hot dog drive-in.

Cragars give it the pizzaz muscle car look.

Depends how you want the car perceived.

George

NY Trainer: That is so cool. Wish I was savvy enough with computers to know how to do that.

Andre: Glad the top boot worked out okay. The velcro was a good idea that we could all probably use, since they all seem to spread out like that.

George: Thing is, if I had had the $$ to shell out for a car like this back in the 60's, probably the thing I would have done to it would have been to put a set of mags of some sort on it!

All: Very interesting to me how many guys like the spinners/white or red wall look. I really thought the Cragars were going to be what everyone gravitated to, and I also thought that's what I was going to like. They make the car seem like it's ready to pounce. But when I put those hubcaps on with the whitewalls something really hit me about how 1964 it looked. Almost like an ad from those days. My problem will be having to find four good 6.00 inch steel wheels, since these are 5.00's or 5.50's from the Lemans.

Nothing wrong with the 14x5. I'm running those on my saddle bronze GTO conv with Firestone Firehawk 225/70/14. Also running a set of 14x5(from a 66 Lemans) on Old Blue with Coker 195/75?/14.
The Coker's, are closer to a stock tire as far as width, and circumference.

No you don't Bill.. Then you'd be a procrastinating timewaster like me!
Here it is with a thinner (than redline) white wall. Any requests? lol

We all wanted to see it! In case I haven't made your choice hard enough already here's redlines on Cragers. Pic wasn't straight on like the hubcap pics so artwork isn't all that great but you get the idea.

I think I actually like the wider white even better than the redline, and I usually love redlines. It's something about that color combo along with it being a convert, the car screams "cruiser", not "bruiser".

If it was a coupe or a different color I would probably go the other way, but I just really like the laid back look of the spinners and the whitewall.

I like Transporters answer, your convertible in that color goes very well with the spinners and whitewalls.

Spinners and whitewalls or redlines look the best. I like your quick-change!!

Cragars WITHOUT white letter tires look great, also. Cragars would look good with black tires. There were no white letter tires in 1964.

Ha, mine or Dave's? I guarantee you Dave didn't spend as much sweat on his "tire change" as I did yesterday. 95 degrees and high humidity and I was using a manual jack and lug wrench. Lost at least two pounds of bodyweight, temporarily, unfortunately.

Pecosbill,
Hope you don't mind but it was raining today and I was playing around with Photoshop so I thought I'd help a Texan out.
I was just in San Antonio 2 weeks ago with my wife. Went to the Sky Bar, Riverwalk, Alamo etc.. Real nice folks I met there that bought us our drinks (we were just talking with them for an hour or so and when we went to pay our tab they had already paid it). Also AngryBird (Matt) and Donovan (Tom) were way friendly and helpful to me (Matt, my wife is still talking about the ride in your F-Type vert.) while we were in Austin. Can't wait to visit Texas again soon.
I posted all the pics in a poll. Hope you're OK with that..
Dave

Dave, I don't mind at all. You've done something else with your computer that I have no idea as to how to do.

Rain? What is that? I think I've read about it somewhere, but can't recall actually seeing it.

Give me a holler next time you're in S.A. and we'll show you the places the locals eat.

Default look

With THAT CAR any combo would work, however, I vote redline w/ those spinners. Makes it look elegant.

I love the spinner hubcaps and the redlines. Those are my favorite hubcaps. Unfortunately I don't have mine anymore.

If you want 6's, I could probably find one at a yard near me, but the shipping would be expensive.

Or you could just order some new rims from Summit:

They are only $75.97 each with free shipping.

Hey, thanks, that's a good price. I had seen them at $90 each at the parts houses and didn't want to put $360 in them if I wasn't going to run them. But I am becoming more convinced that spinners might be the ticket. One thing about it; since I've already got the Cragar's mounted and ready to roll, changing them out with the hubcap look is not all that big of a deal if I want to change the car's look periodically.

You can use 7" from 80s. F-body , will clear disc brakes if needed & they have opening for better brake cooling .

Redlines or RWL and Cragars with spinners. Someone do a photoshop job with that combination. Spinners are old school cool. And yes, you can still get the spinners for Cragar S/S rims
