Default NOS RALLY II LUG NUT SET

Pictured is a set of NOS Black center Rally II lug nuts. These are true originals, never been used or installed; not the repro "correct style" now made. These have been on my buddies shelf since 1999 in a plastic bag. I don't know where the original box went to or how they were packed, but they were bought way before what's out now. I've been going thru my buddies NOS parts and selling the stuff for him. In one picture, I show a repro lug nut on the left with the "flat" rib and the right lug nut has a "peaked" rib. The other picture is a sure fire way to tell if it's original or not... the lug nut shoulder around the black center is much thicker on the originals than the repro's. Also, there is slight length difference... the NOS ones are 1-1/64" and the repro's are 1-9/128". Granted it's not a huge difference, but I still has to let the buyer know. I'm looking for $250 for the set plus shipping. Please PM me if interested with your e-mail address. Thanks... Mike

Default OEM Lug Nuts

Actually, both pictured are original lug nuts. Those are the two styles I have seen on my original cars. Both are correct for top level restorations in NOS condition. For years, the repo lug nuts top corners on the hex were beveled so the top surface did not look like a stop sign with a hole in it. The black inside surface is a plastic disc that is pressed into it. Easy to see from the back side. Click image for larger version

Yep! I too have and have had them both ways. Some I took off a '69 Judge back in '71 or '72.

There is no disputing it especially when they are in the original packaging.

Easiest way for me to tell the difference is the chrome is crappy on the originals compared to the repops. This goes back to what I have always said, "GM was not in the business of making show cars, they're in business to make money".

Are those the very last of Dennis Kirban's 1983 distributions?

Those were very nice; i got red centeres and black centers from Dennis.
