Is there such a thing? Why not? How do we go about organizing one? I think we should have one, there's GTO, firebirds etc. clubs. We could have differnt divisions and classes. Meet up at events. What do you guys think? Or am i of my roller rockers?

A quite wonderful idea if I do say so myself!

Now all we'd have to do is rent out an airport for a weekend so we could all park our cars together!

I personally like taking up enough parking spaces for 3 Honda Civics.

Lets do it. We will need a large Docking area. I nominate Port of Charleston in Charleston SC.

I think one thing we'll need is someone with web skills. I think we should have a website. Is anyone here a web designer. I'm an art director at an ad agency in minneapolis. I could come up with a logo design (for t-shirst, stickers etc.) But my web skills are not the best, I could give it a try if we can't find a web guy. While i'm at it what should we call the club? Here are few thoughts i had:
1. Wide Tracks of America (newsletter called wide tracking)
2. Big Iron of America
3. Pontiac fullsize association.
4. Pontiac's Wide Tracks of America
5. Fullsize Pontiac club of america(world)
6. Big Injuns
7. Big guns
8. Pontiacs Heavy metal coalition

Just some first thoughts, let's have some fun.
I think the website could show rides and plus more to come later.

I hate to bring this up and might piss off a few people, but i thought i should bring it up. Do we want to have a cut off year for cars? Or only V-8 cars? no cars after 1980? Just a thought, if everyone hates the idea, forget it.

Don't forget the Grand prix club.
or P.O.C.I.

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

Karl, this is a FANTASTIC idea. I'm a member of POCI and the Grand Prix chapter. A full-size chapter would be PERFECT. I'll start by saying that I'm definitely "in". A lifelong pal of mine does web design and he does my sites for free. He actually uses the stuff he designs for me in his portfolio. I need to take a step back and gather my thoughts as I'm hyperventilating at what a great idea this is but we definitely need to talk. I want to make this idea work.

Obviously there is a ton to consider such as what constitutes "full-size". For example, the 64 GP would be full-size in my book, but what about the 69-72 GP? Also, some type of year cut-off does make sense too. Heck, we'll figure it out! Bring us your "Bonnevilles, Venturas, and huddled masses of Catalinas!"

You said it John! I'm in too. I'd love to see this go down. I can not get enough of the full size pontiacs. If it was a drug I'd be dead by now of an overdose. Well my wife may kill me anyway. My kids love the old boats though. We definately need to welcome the westcoasters as they have all the good metal! I'd love to see that swap meet area! How about you?

All you need to start a specialty chapter in POCI is have 12 POCI members who want one.You need officers, and the most important,a newsletter editor.I would join, and I'm sure many others would.I talked to some people in Norwalk who floated a similar idea.
If you are interested, let me know and I'll contact the POCI New Chapter Co-ordinator,Ginny Simmons.

I just reupped my poci membership. So, lets rock. I might be able to help edit a newsletter. I have computer experience. Ponchopio it would be great to have you in and plus you know a web guy. I think this would be fun. I know it would get me to go to more shows. I would be great if we we're all lined up side by side. Plus, I could always use some technical advice from people who know more about pontiacs than me.

Lets throw out some names, I already got it rolling in an early post!

How about G.A.L.Y
Great American Land Yachts?

Put my name on the list as well.
'61 Bonneville in Minneapolis.

The definition of full size Pontiacs needs to be defined...do we start with 1955 (first V8), or 1959 (first Wide-Track?) End with 1976 (last full size full size) or 1981 (downsized w/301?)

I dunno about that G.A.L.Y. name...sounds a little too close to GAYLY for me. :-)

Back in 1990-1992, Merle Green published a newsletter for full size Pontiac enthusiasts called the "Split Grille News." Maybe he wouldn't mind if the title was resurrected.
