I heard that Floyd Garrett has passed away

He was a really nice guy. I visited several years ago and got to talk to him for a while.

Sad news, he was a very nice guy. Once when we were visiting his place, he was telling us about his friendship with Steve Ames.
Another great car guy gone that will be missed.

I've been to his museum twice. Last time was April of 2011. Floyd was there. Got to talk to him. I remembered some cars that he owned. I asked him about the 67 Chevelle (I think?) he owned that was the car that Smokey Yunick never got to race.. He said that when he sold it, for $200,000.00, it seemed like a lot of money, but after the muscle car frenzy took over, $$$ wise, it was peanuts in comparison. He regretted selling THAT car when he did......
