I'm jealous of you for snagging that car!

Looking good. Is it everything you had expected? Done any fuel mileage tests yet?

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone! I had to replace the starter motor and both battery cables with new Delco parts. I drove it around a little bit on Friday morning and it seems to be a very well-kept car. It needs new shock absorbers , tires and definitely needs some Rally II wheels. No mileage figures yet, I only went about 10 miles. What can be done to improve the handling?

I've got extra sway bars Todd, let me know what size you need - standard, Y99 or HO Racing 1.25".

Some cars had a ride and handling package, got stiffer springs I think. Mine still drives better than a full size PU IMO. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a ....

Later sedans had rear sway bars but you need to get the complete unit.

Dog dish caps would not look bad either. I got tall LT tires on mine, really makes it look mean.

Any luck finding a hitch?

If the A-body stuff fit, it would already be on there! This big-car stuff is weird.

Yeah, I still need a hitch!

After much searching, I settled on this one for my Bonneville-
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cht-13702

It's made for an RV but the width and drop fit just perfect under the back well. I had to use spacers on the back bolt holes to keep it level when I put it as far back as I wanted.

Thanks! What do you tow? What is it like towing with a 69 Big Wagon?

I've got Dog-Dishes on it but it's giving off the 'pov' look when I want the 'posh' look.

I haven't actually towed anything with it yet. I've got a few more things to get into shape before I'm comfortable doing any real towing. Eventually I want to be able to use it to tow a race car to the track. I've already added air bags, need to get the sway bar on and a few other things.

I know what you're saying about the dog dish on a "posh" car- maybe add some trim rings to dress them up? There are some big car Rallys in the classifieds here. I bought a set for mine, but after I did the custom paint I needed some wheels with a little more "bling", so the Rallys are on my car trailer now.

i personally dont tow with one, but as a kid, my dad towed everything (boat, travel trailer, flat beds, pickup bed trailers, etc.. ) with his 68 bonneville 428 HO and i remember him always talking about how good it towed stuff. one time he was with me and i was towing a t/a on a 18" flatbed behind a new 84 gmc 4 wd and he said his old bonneville towed alot better than that truck was doing.

Nice looking Long Roof!!!! In one of my favorate colors!! On my 78 Impala wagon I like the looks of the dog dish'es, but I painted the rims Body Color, and added Trim rings. It really changes the look.

But Rally II's would look good also.
