Talking I think it’s time

I think it’s time we bring back drive in movie theaters, not sure the walk in ones will be doing so well these days. Perfect time to bring the drive in movies back. Those days were some of the best in my life. what are your thoughts?

A country bar/restaurant has started doing that in their parking lot. They project the movie onto the side of a white semi trailer and they will deliver food and beverages to your car (still can't go into a restaurant and dine at this time in MN).

A few boroughs and townships here have a movie night at the ball parks using the score boards as the screens. You can bring your blankets and coolers and it’s free. Once a month in the Summer. They have bathrooms there too. But your cars and trucks have to stay in the parking lot. Everyone is responsible for their own trash.

None around me anymore, but there was an article on the news last night of one in Bmore that was starting back up last night. My wife and I have often talked about how cool it would be to have them back. The local theatre was dozed years ago for a Walmart, then the walmart moved, they renovated that into doctors offices, an Olive Garden and Ruby Tuesday. Doctor went to jail, and the rest.'s are now closed. I said it would be nice to tear everything down and put the drive-in back!!

All for it but doubt real estate values in Bucks County would be workable

MaryAnn ever been to Becky's or Shankweiler's? Both up in Northampton Co - not too far.
Thinking of taking the grandkids this summer but never been to either one.

Starting to do this at local Fairgrounds, not sure about the screen and such, but they are advertising 2 shows a week.

A couple of years ago there was a local group going from town to town with 'movies in the park'. They had a large inflatable screen. Set up in the town parks on a friday night for free. I suppose the towns paid for the service. It was all the rage for about 2 summers then quickly went away with no explanation.

Remember the playgrounds right under the screen? The kids could play during intermission or between movies if it was a double feature. When the movie started they would scatter back to the cars.

Grew up 10 mins away from one. They dozed it in the 90's. Built a storage warehouse.
There's still one half hr away but its along a swap. Have to completely bath in skeeter spray.

Actually. I remember 2 of them that had miniature golf. We had quite a few Drive-Ins in my area. The Transit and maybe 1 or 2 more are all that is left.

We had one about 20 minutes north of us, but closed about 10 years ago. Went there a few times. We have another about 40 minutes south of us, but haven't been there yet.

We've got a few out here. I live about 5 minutes from one. Honestly though, I prefer watching movies at home or in a theater when they open back up.
