So on the headlight covers, I am guessing this edge originally had silver overspray on it? I am thinking I might paint this hidden edge black. OR I could leave a silver reveal line similar to what I did on the center sections?

I finished the other center last night. Next is the door covers. They will not be easy to mask of with the curved inside edge of the fins. I was thinking they would be easy, probably not so much..... :roll eyes:

I'll get the covers off, snap some shots and post tomorrow.

A silver reveal line is what I remember seeing.

No need to take things apart, but I think it you just tipped a headlight door down you could see it. I have a feeling its all silver, or silver or an overspray of black or silver. I just finished spraying the covers tonight, While I am pretty certain its not correct, I taped off a line that matches up with the grill. easy enough to change that edge to solid silver it thats what its supposed to be.

No rush though & please don't go out of your way. I think I have them very close otherwise.

They are actually black on the edge, the right one has no rollover of silver, the left side has a 1/8" rollover (sorry about the pics) so I'm guessing either would be correct.

The bottoms are the same with about 1/16" rollover.

I like the rollover as it blends when the doors are closed a bit better, but when open I like the black, sort of makes the edge disappear.

The grills are black on the edge as well.

Still need to get that usb adapter for my camera.

Grill edge and door open.

Again, sorry about the pics.

I do tend to lean towards black when the doors are open.

Bumping this to the top. Finally got around to refinishing mine. I did a LOT of masking in an attemp to duplicate the originals. I'll post pics when done. I have one center grille to go. Still waiting on backordered headlight cover trim also, so the originals will go back on untilllll...who knows when.

LoL... I'll tell you what, it's very time consuming. I believe that I had stated somewhere earlier in this thread that I thought that the headlight covers would be the tough part to mask... Wrong. The center grille is tougher. In fact, I still have the driver side to go.

By the way, I was mistaken about the aluminum paint. It's ' Univ. Aluminium SP127'.

Looks great. My car is fixed headlights and the bezel needs a new coat of flat black. Been going blind with the masking process. Have one done so far. One more to go....
