Took one of the rims over today and had one of the gr 70-14 wide ovals installed. After the tire was mounted he went to spin balance and you could see a little kick from side to side. Talked to a company that straightens rims and he said its sounds like some time in its life it might of taken a side impact and would be hard to fix. Got 2 KS and 2 JK. Haven't checked the other 3 yet for straightness. Thought I had seen 14x7 aftermarket before but I guess they discontinued them. So if they don't make them I might be interested in yours as long as they're true and the lug holes aren't all wollered out.

By the way I'm not real happy the way the new tire looks compared to the old 235/70-14 bfg that are on it. The wide oval is supposed to be the same size as the bfg were when new. The bfg are well over 1/2 worn and they both measure 26.5" inflated. Oval supposed to be 27" . The big thing is the ovals are supposed to be 6.9" wide. They're only 6" and that's being kind. The bfg are 7". The narrower tread makes the tire roll in where the 7" bfg on the 7" rim doesn't roll and looks better. I guess I own them now,,,1100.00 later.

The wide ovals look the part. They had weak sidewalls when new.
My Buddy has the rims in Middleton, NH, not far from the Maine Border / 202/ Lebanon, Sanford... I will ask him for pics and evaluation.

Sounds good, thanks. Yes they look the part and have the ride of a radial and thats why i bought them. I just don't know why they say 6.9 " width when they're barely 6". Traction was bad enough with the 7" ,these should be a joke. These tires would probably look better on a 6" rim. Wish they still made the 235 70 14 bfg.

I have 4 matching 14x7 ralleys on my 74 firebird I'd be willing to sell. Original paint, 73k miles on car, rings and center caps.

Well ive about had it with 14". The more I look at the wide ovals I got the more disappointed I am. I dont put tires on too often so what ever Im putting on the car they will be there a while and I want to be happy with them. 225-70 14 are too short so thats not going to work.
.Wide oval radials are only 6" wide of tread and looking from the back you can see the difference from my old 235 70 14 which are 7".Looks too skinny and they are the same diameter as my wore out BFG's. Wide ovals are supposed to be 27" by 6.9". I called coker and they said send them back if you dont want them. Thinking about finding some 15x7's rally rims and then I can come closer to the correct height and some decent tread width, Any ideas? 255 60 15?
