'61 Transaxle
I just bought what I was told was a '61 transaxle with torque tube and front bellhousing. Looking at the code for what rear gears, it has a letter "H". Are the gears and letters the same from year to year '61 - '63? In the '63 shop manual, this is a 3:90 gear. Anyone?

Hey Vin, if no one else gets back to you shoot GaryK a pm, I think he has all that stuff memorized!

3.08
An "H" code in 1962 was for a 3.08 ratio.

61-2 the ratios are the same, 63 there were some minor changes in ratios and codes. Jerry is correct, H= 3:08. You have a better chance of finding a 3:90 with a 4 speed transaxle, not an automatic.

Just looked at an older post discussing torque tube length on my '61 torque tube vs. the '63 torque tube. I didn't see any mention about any differences in the drive shaft lengths. Are they the same?
