Question US Mags Trans Am-U722 Wheels?

Just stumbled upon these wheels while looking for WV Billet Rally 2's

https://kctrends.com/wheel/5713/us-m...ID=2365&lugs=5

Anyone have these on their Bird?

Seems like they have plenty of sizes, but their online fitment guide says none of them fit my T/A

Several guys do... nice wheels

However, they make a cheap 17" or 18" cast version for like $200 a wheel. Junk in my opinion; and being black look terrible. Better off getting the Year One Rallye II for the same price - much better (but still cast chinese garbage) - but only come in 17".

The real deal 2 or 3 piece wheel you are looking at on that page averages $900 per rim. Legit. Great rims. So worthy.

I bought 2 cast 18" $200 MHT US Mag rims for shop rollers only. Would never run them on a car.

I had once bought the Year One 17" replica's and they are so much nicer between the 2. The lip cut is better, charcoal color too.

The black paint on these cheap cast MHT rallye 2 rims looks silly.

If you are wanting 18" rims, well then you have no choice for cheap wheels. But if you are getting 18" rims, there must be a reason - like performance. So at that point spend the money and get the real 2 or 2 piece ones that MHT makes for ~$900 per rim. They are built right and look super. And you can get them in any offset you want.

I've actually been looking for a set of WV Billet wheels like the ones on Losi's T/A

I like the look of them more than the Year One wheels, but they're not cheap and are limited in width

Then I found this from American Racing (VN501) which look pretty close, but limited in size as well (I think up to 17") and have that silly AR logo stamped on it.

The larger they get, the more distorted and less proportional to original style.

I have a set of US Mags Bandit wheels in 17". I'm very happy with them. I much prefer the black over the grey like other wheels which is why I bought them. At some point, I'll have a wheel shop do the lip in a brushed aluminum look, right now they are way to shiny for my taste. I went with black lug nuts and the black PMD centers with red letters.

The American Racing units look nice, but only offer gloss black with machined finish and are more Olds looking than Pontiac*, though the cost is nice.

*they would have been superb on my 66 442!

Your car looks amazing! Is the windshield tinted? I've been toying with the idea.

That red/white TA looks amazing. I have been planning on putting on the ‘cannonball’ yellow and blue stripe on my 72 but this has me rethinking it.

Looks great!!

I actually prefer the smaller holes between the spokes like on the WV Billets though

Mainly to cover up the fact that I'm not upgrading to giant brakes (I want to swap back and forth between the stock JW's)

What's the backspacing and tire size btw?

Any mods to the suspension or wheel well?

Haha that's the same reason I dislike them and their hubcap appearance, can understand not advertising larger brakes with the lager rim, though, does look odd.

These are U109's. 18x9 all around. BS is 5.25. Here's a pic with the 12" brakes installed after the previous posted pic.. Tubular control arms, tall ball upper joints and rolled wheel lips in the rear(factors affecting wheel fitment). As far as suspension mods as a whole...Sub frame connectors, Cal Tracs, thicker .850 '70 Trans Am sway bar rear, G Braces under the hood, Solid body/subframe mounts, WS6 rear springs with the Herb Adams mod, and Bilsteins all around plus a lot of other stuff..

Thank you. No the windshield is not tinted but the rest of the car is the darkest tint available and you can't tell in that pic but there is a strip across the front.

Thank you for the kind words. No the windshield is not tinted except for a strip across the top about 6 or 8 inches wide behind the "Pontiac" decal which is hard to see in the pic but the rest of the car is the darkest tint available.

This color combo required custom decals, they look a little orangy in the picture.
