Seems like every time they hype it up here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area nothing ever happens but just this past October 20 we were expecting storms and there was no hype and we had the devastating tornadoes hit the Dallas area.

I'm in PA and we are suppose to have mid to upper 60's this weekend. That is pretty rare for northeast PA in the middle of January.

All we are getting is buckets of rain. Most of IN and KY are under flood watches.

I have a co-worker that is never happy about the weather forecasts, he wants them to be perfect, every time...I don't understand.WE LIVE IN OKLAHOMA!!! In the good old days you just sat in your house and got you and all your crap blown away, maybe lived through it, maybe not.
I am thankful for all the technology that helps protect us!!!

Been praying for all of us to be protected.
We had a quickie tornado spin up last year, weather folks called it a drill bit tornado, caught the edge of a trailer park, had (only) 2 fatalities. took out our Chrysler dealer and 2 motels. Tornado was only on the ground for about 1/4 mile. If the path had been 50 feet further north, many lives would have been lost. Many folks from the trailer park are still recovering.
We had folks send us all kinds of supplies from all over the world, some because we had sent them things, when THEY were in need. Incredible acts of kindness, none of which anyone heard about on TV...showing the true perspective of how people are...

It was Awesome here this AM. Was unloading out back in shorts & thin short sleeve shirt, 70 degrees.
Finished up, drove into town & came home few hours later & temp had dropped 30 degrees & we had a few downbursts of rain. Supposed to be 19 tonight with windchill of 5 above. Gotta love the seesaw ride.

The tornado sirens went off and we are less than a mile from where the tornadoes hit back on October 20 here in Dallas.

My daughters put their softball helmets on and got in the closet underneath the stairs along with the wife and myself.

Nothing touched down from what I heard.

Early last nite, the moon appeared to be full. There were some scattered clouds, moving North, pretty fast.

The surface winds were gusty.

Just looked at the weather radar. Big line of storms just crossing from TX, into LA.

Wind still gusty. No rain here, yet. Most years, we would have had some cold weather by now. But, I have seen several Febs that were colder than Jans, here.

The biggest snow I ever remember was in early, Feb. 1961, IIRC. Got real cold, for here. Stayed below freezing for several days, keeping the snow & ice around. Caused lots of power outages & busted pipes.
