At least with the over 30 year old Taiwaan made Allied floor jack, one can get parts for them. No new HF throw away floorjack.

When you said axle stands, I thought of these.

My Dad made them about 55 years ago.

Anybody wanna guess what they were made from ?

Wink

This is a really accurate meme, When my Dad (RIP) first went into a nursing home, (Alzheimers) he pissed off the staff administrator when he had started disassembling the heating/AC unit attached to the wall ,below the window, LOL had to tell the moron administrator, he was a mechanic his whole life, what do you expect him to do when he doesn't realize that it wasn't his to work on? maybe he was cold? LOL

Being I've spent the majority of my life in and around garages, I probably shouldn't have put a question mark after my post. They are model A axle tube bells. I've seen more than a few over the years in old garages used as jack stands.

Many of the current quick change rear axles also use the ford axle tube design still use reproductions of the original ford model A parts. If you compare the 2 pictures you can clearly see the QC parts are copies of the original ford parts.

Winters quick change:

Didn't know that.
Around 1985 I had my 65 GTO on my Dads "jack stands" with large screw drivers as high as they would go, and they were a bit wobbly when they shifted off balance sending the quarter panel an inch from the wall. But the gas tank took a hard blow. Bought a new gas tank and haven't used the stands since.
Think I might repaint them and put my Dads name on them. Then store them in my "car stuff" basement.
