What is the correct color for '69 GTO, white or black? The one I pulled off my car is white.

I have a black one if you need it. No cap on it though. How about $5? I can send pics if you like. Email me at jtrice@reedsmith.com

If it's the one of the right fender, I've seen black and white. It must have depended on the assembly plant it they are original.

Mine is white with the black cap. It is original. My car was built in Baltimore.

Thanks. I am fairly certain mine is original. Ummm... been so long, but I think it was on the LH fender well, but dont remember. Mine is OK, but is not white white, sort of yellowish-white due to age. Thinking of getting a new one and just wanted to confirm white or black.

On the 67 and earlier, black was the original color, white(opaque) was the replacement. This may be true for 68 and up also.

The white one can be bought from the dealer. I painted mine with vinyl dye in black for my 69 GTO.

If the stockmarket crashes and no one is at work to see it, did it really crash ?

Original owner - original tank.
White (sorta' after all that time!) with a black lid.
