Rear block number 9799916 matches a 1970 350. The 9799 denotes 1970 part number. But the YE does not match up for 1970. The only 350 block codes I see for 1970 are WU,YU,WR and XR. I do show a YE for a 1969 350 with head cast of 47. Head casting letters for 1970 350's are 11 or 94 only.
If it is later than 68, the cid will be on the side of the block on the left (drivers) side to the left of the motor mount. I am looking in Pete McCarthy's book. TigerEFI.com (Classic Pontiac Fuel Injection) Jax.GTO@gte.net Motto: Build it for NASA and drive it like you stole it!

I CAN'T FIND THE YE 350 IN 70 WITH THE 9799916 CASTING BLOCK NUMBER? WEIRD? ITS FOR SURE THIS CONMBO? THE ENGINE LOOKS GOOD, EXTERNALLY, NO LEAKS, PRETTY GOOD PAINT , NO OIL ETC I'M GOING TO CHANGE TO 4BBL AND HEADERS AND HOPE FOR THE BEST, THINK IT WILL BE OK? THE GENTLEMAN I GOT IT FROM (FOR $100) SAID IT WAS IN A 68 VENTURA, AND THAT HE WAS TOLD IT WAS FROM A 658 FIREBIRD LOL, THE PLOT THICKENS THX BOB ALL AMERICAN PONTIAC LOVER

Your intake is for a '68. Maybe the heads are also from the same '68 (17 heads for 350, 14 heads for 400). The YE was a '69 Firebird 350 code, which was produced into the early '70 model year, hmmm.

Pull the intake and the valley cover. In the center ribs of the lifter valley on 68 and later blocks will be a '50' for a 350, '28' for 428, '55' for 455.
Motors will also have the CID as part of the block casting below the most forward freeze plug, or behind the dipstick tube on the other side. TIGER EFI - Electronic Fuel Injection for the Traditional Pontiac Engine. bill@tigerefi.com
