I have seen quite a few threads about swapping a standard idiot light gauge to a Rally gauge. I would like to do this in my 69, but have had no luck in finding one... anyone know where I can find one? Is there a reproduction unit available? Thanks for any info.

There are no repops of the oil pressure gauge/temp gauge unit that I know of (sombody please correct me if I'm wrong), but there is a repop in-dash tach.

The basic clusters with speedometer and fuel gauge/oil pressure gauge/temp gauge/alt light show up on eBay fairly frequently.

Thanks for the info, I will keep an eye on ebay... but is it possible to just change that one pod where the idiot lights and fuel gauge are. I need to keep my speedometer in kilometers anyway. Is there an aftermarket gauge that will fit in there? Can I use something from another year or model?

Thanks,
Jeff

I think it's the other way around. You'll have to buy a rally set with the speedometer, then swap you KM speedo unit in place. Reason is you'll need the housing and printed circuit that belong to the Rally Gauge set.

I checked the parts book for 69, and the speedo head is the same for both standard pod and Rally gauge set.In the right side opening, you can install either a clock or a tachometer. These are separate from the speedo/gauge cluster. Or you can leave the blank plate there.

I got one from a 69 Grand Prix. Several years of GP it. I see clocks everywhere in junkyards (probably 50) but no tachs left.

I just sold my indash tach last week. Had it posted here for a week or so before. You can buy the tach new for around $170

Thanks for the info guys, I think I know what I need to do now. Einstein is right, I will have to buy the rally gauge with the speedo built in and then swap it to the KPH unit. I have my eye on a couple on ebay, please contact me if you have such a unit for sale.
