Charlie did you read the beginning of this thread? You were going to boost to 15 psi. LMFAO! 30 and climbing. I guess that might happen to me?

How fast has the engine run? Any comments about vibration levels?
I've never built a 'four' before, but I'm working on one for LSR and am concerned about the inherent imbalance (180 degree crank)- don't quite know what to expect at 9-10,000 RPM.

I've never ran it before. But I can say its making between 650-700hp.

There is a pretty wicked vibration with this engine. The only thing I can say about it is it seems as the rpm's go up it appears to stabilize.

I.ve had the valve cover bolts come lose , the starter bolts too.

The only real time I notice it is when I'm cursing. The rear view mirror gets burry . This motor see between 6500-7500 at the most. I think people make it out to be worse then it really is. I know of a couple of guys that spin this same motor to 8500 rpms all the time and it lives. So 9000-10,000 I don't see to be impossible . Just get it balanced real good with light parts...

Thanks Charlie. "good balance" can be done. "light reciprocating parts" no way! Hemi pistons with domes to get to 12:1, and Diamond-recommended full-skirt (not those 'skeleton' pistons that guys run) to survive 30+ PSI boost and 4 HP/c.i., on BME 426 forgings- not at all light. The only factor in my favor for less vibration, is the decent R/S ratio of 1.84 (6.660" rods, 3.620" stroke).

No problem Jack. If there's anything else you want to know feel free to ask. I've been through a lot with this motor. lol There will be a lot of fabricating for sure...

Innovation for speed at Bonneville is the nostalgia. Twin balance shafts can control the 2nd order harmonics.

I finally got the header installed and the motor running. I also have 3/8" pushrods in the motor now. That wasn't an easy task to do.. Now I have to get it tuned better it seems like the new header wants to have a little more timing at idle. I haven't took it out for a ride yet but im betting in going to have to make some more changes there too. This fuel injection is not easy for me so far.. I have a lot of respect for these guys that now how to tune them...

Charlie,

I just noticed your front stabilizer bar setup. It looks like a "bolt-in" deal. What is it and can you show photos of how it is attached?

Thanks!

I took a few pictures of my motor all together. I'll be testing it as soon as I finish the fender .

I'm running 38 psi now. It seems to be find with e85 . No sign of detonation so far...

Here's a video of it in action......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rd4KX1az2M
