Cool picture thanks for posting the link. Funny to think... as it turned out, that car probably turned out to be the most valuable car on the floor and at the time it looks like it was just stuck in a back corner.
Love that link... lots of cool pictures there. The comment below picture #15 makes me feel like I came from a different planet or I'm really getting old.... p.s. I think I spotted my old girl friend in one of those pics (yeah, really getting old) |

Also "Stan Long" has been removed from the side of the car, looks like the front end had been damaged and partially repaired, as the drivers side corner piece has been replaced, other side is missing along with the right headlights!

Great find is right. A photographers "proof"...
The old picture and the restoration are missing K/L on the sail panel. K stood for Tony Kineper Stan Long's parts manager and Pontiac racer, L stood for Stan Long. Kineper/Long. Probably removed for the same reason Stan Long Pontiac was. I see the St Clair Marina sign hanging on the curtain too. This in also in Harrison/ Harrison Township, MI. Almost looks like the Detroit Light Guard Armory Car Show on 8 mile Rd. Can't tell for sure.

Made it through all 203 pictures; I didn't see anybody I knew - but I did see a bunch of names I recognized: Dynamic Engines, Alexander Bros, Bruce Freeman (Auto Salvage), Schultz Auto Upholstry - all places we frequented during my growing up years.

Packer Pontiac's 63 Catalina is #174.
Some very cool cars in the photo line up! One has to wonder just how many of these old customs are still tucked away in the corner of a Detroit warehouse collecting dust......hopefully a good number of them still exist. |
