I been making slow and steady progress getting the car back together.
I installed my newly refurbished dash and had the gauges done by Instruments Specialties.
I installed all the under dash ducts, heater and evap. box, factory AC and got my steering wheel back from being refinished as well

I had all my stainless trim refinished and polished and installed. New tail lights, gaskets, wiring harness and trunk light installed.
All circuits are operating with no bad grounds or blown fuses.

I sent my car back to my body guy to align the doors, fenders, hood and deck lid since these parts were painted off the car and were re hung my my painter temporarily
I have no patience for that type of work.
Its really coming together now and seeing progress

Little tip for yah....unless your guy already has some.. this tape is put down first ...before you go installing those lower stainless moldings and some window moldings.... to prevent paint damage.

Interesting, Thanks for the tip .
Why do you prefer that tape over 3m masking tape ?
Does that tape have a name or product number?

That tape is similar to 3M stone guard patches ...found on newer vehicles ,in areas of road rash from sand and rocks. But this tape here has very low amounts of adhesive....and can be applied to fresh cured paint and easily removed. It is tough and fairly thick. Blows masking tape away for the intended use. Just google the info on the pic...and you should find it for sale...somewhere. You’ll use it...once you booger up a panel...trying to slide a molding onto its clips..

My car was built at the Pontiac plant also. Here is a pic of my un restored firewall. I was told that the Pontiac plant ...extended the body color onto the upper part of the firewall...as shown in my pic. Just putting that out there .Click image for larger version

Yep you are correct
My painter wanted to duplicate that too but I wanted a more finished look even though that’s not original

Red, I see your front/rear wiring appears to be laying in a track. Did you just line the factory path with tape or did you use the OEM front-to-rear harness?

I am using the OEM ribbon going from front to back and using 4 inch tape just to hold it down inside the floor channel that’s formed in the floor pans.

I'm with you on this one. My car was also built at the Pontiac plant, but I prefer the cleaner look.

Yep Karl you know the deal. With The exception of us Pontiac purists on this site, most don’t know the overspray on the firewall is the correct way.
I just don’t want to have to explain that to others that look at my car thinking the overspray on the firewall was a sub par restoration.
