Default Wiring wrap question

What is the proper type of wrap material to use when repairing or making wiring harnesses? Do you guys know of a product other than electrical tape that is specific for this purpose? I read in a Year One catalogue that they use the “Correct harness wrap as opposed to electrical tape” but they don’t mention what it is.

The OEM style harness tape doesn't have adhesive on the back. You can buy it from Eastwood or other places. Regular old black electrical tape will eventually get all gummy if you use it. With the harness tape, you do need to use a little electrical tape or shrink tube at the ends, to keep it from unraveling.

Or do what the factory did to keep it from unraveling... tie the end off in a knot.
