Default noisy AM radio

Whats the best noise filter-etc. My am radio in 61 tempest works great till you start engine. I have a one wire alternator so the voltage regulator with condensor is for looks. I also have a pointless ignition with a box.

I would suggest that you verify all ground connections (cables, braided straps, etc.) are clean and tight.

With the transistorized ignition added, you may need to switch to 'suppression' type spark plugs and or wires. You may also need to install new and/or additional 'condensers' (electrolytic capacitors).

I would also suggest performing a detailed search in this 'sub-forum' on the topic, as it has come up a few times over the last several years.

Hope this helps...
