That's a GOOD find.........Love the Herb Adams SD seminar......

In 73,it was Bucanneer Red....

If I'm not mistaken, that was made for showroom demonstrations in what was called a GM Mini-Theatre.......each model had it's own tape and was used by the car salesman to show the engineering & features to prospective purchasers....

At about 1:45 in the video you see how well the front valence fits on the nose.

Default POLY VALANCE

I like how they actually talk about the spoilerless valance and how well it works!..IF I can not have the TRANS AM from the video I would settle for the Brewster green Firebird...

Yeah, isn't that nice looking?

(I do want to strangle that lab coat guy who was doing the reverse-drive, neutral drops to "test" the transmission)

I think the Formula with the rubber roof and rear spoiler is really the "ugly duckling".....it just looks WRONG...

Default if you have not seen this video, you need to just for the S.D.-455 description part

I have no idea when this tape was filmed...available to dealers for Sept. 1972?....here there is a whole segment devoted to the Super Duty...so someone was behind this engine being built to get it on a dealer promotion tape

While a couple of you noticed the "fit" of the '73 Esprit front end. "factory front spoiler included", but not really.. THIS one isnt broke... yet

....I hope that I am on the same page with everyone..we are saying that the valance is fitted perfect...really much better than it came from the factory with no seam between the under bumper and top of valance...and find it extremely funny that after what we have all learned about these poly valances that the narrator of the video espouse the virtues of the 1973 polyurethane valance and its aerodynamic qualities without the benefit of a Trans Am front spoiler..yet fails to mention it is new & improved over last years exploding valance..

This IS a factory fit, its a factory car, at the factory proving grounds, and the fit looks just like NJ Steve's handi work too!. This is a commercial, your not going to any bad things.... How often do you see CORRECT Painted '73 grilles these days? The esprit in this commercial is a good looking car with some drive line abuse!
Its no wonder the Esprit was THE most popular second Gen Bird...option package most people wanted..

Default FACTORY CAR

thanks!!..I have always been an Esprit fan...when I toyed with the idea in 1990 of putting 1970 low back seats and custom interior that is exactly what I did...I bought a white 1970 Cameo white/black interior Esprit...it was an automatic (most all were), no a/c Esprit stripper!!!..I cannot remember the engine but it was a 2 barrel and ran great!!...cost me $1500...kinda regret selling it now....and in 2005 I missed the opportunity to get another 1970 brown Esprit for $1000!!..still mad about that...I am certain if you look, there are deals out there on real nice 1970 to 75 Esprit and base birds...everyone wants a Trans Am or Formula and these cars get overlooked I think..which may be a good thing because after I settle on my crashed car I am looking for a base bird or Esprit as a driver..1970 to 1975...I will even consider a 1979 to 1981 because I do prefer the early cars but I really like those last years..the tail light lens treatment on the T/A & Formula was fantastic!!...I still remember a commercial in 1978 for that!!...those crate grills do look nice on that T.V. car..I did notice that too!!
