Default 71 LeMans

Original 350 .040 over, 363ci

stock ,crank, rods

#46 heads

1.5 rockers

Unknown cam, very lumpy idle (possibly 068 summit?)

Stock intake

Edelbrock 650cfm carb

GM HEI

AC delco wires

AC delco plugs

Cheap Flowtech full length headers

Home built cheap 2 inch exhaust exiting out the sides

TCI street fighter th-350, TCI 2500 stall Breakaway converter

Stock 8.2 10 bolt rear with 3.08's in an open differential

Suspension- stock except rear KYB gas adjust rear shocks, jacked all the way up

tires- 15x7 cragar ss's with 225/60/r15 bf Goodrich traction TA's

Weight- 3820 with me in it and about 5 gallons of gas

Gas mileage- about 12 mpg with my foot out of it (which is never )

Performance- Best run so far was 14.2 @ 94mph, 2.2 60' ,when it was about 38 degrees out side at Budds Creek MIR. This was with the old ignition system and burned out plugs & wires, and a completely blackened dist rotor that shouldn't have even been working.
It should run mid 13's with its recent tune up and the soon to come addition of limited slip

Here's what I'm running:

original 1969 YS code 400 (+.040) = 408 CID
oil holes/casting ridges ground smooth for drainback/aligned honed
Original nodular crank, stock stroke, .010/.010.
Eagle H-beam 4340 steel rods 6.625 (stock length)
Speed Pro Forged pistons (coated skirts)
Arp rod bolts and main stud kit
Speed pro Rings
Factory deck -zeroed
Cloyes true roller timing chain
Clevite bearings (cam/main/rods)
rotate assembly balanced
Comp Cams XE-274 Cam .488/.491 lift/matching lifters
Harland sharp full rolller rockers. 1.5:1 ratio
Comp cams factory length pushrods.
edelbrock Performer Heads 87 cc/planed, slightly stiffer springs installed
10.6:1 compression
perfromer RPM intake/planed to match intake
Dougs 1-7/8" full length headers, 3 1/2 collectors, 2-1/2 mandrel bent exhaust, X-pipe
Holley 750 Vaccum secondary/dual feed carb
Pertronix HEI with Accel wires.
Moroso 8 quart pan
Factory windage tray
Brad penn break in oil (will be changed within next 3 weeks)

TH400 PX code (factory)
Rebuilt, shift kit.
2500 RPM stall converter
Factory open 8.2" 10 bolt with 3:23 gears

The carb is still out of the box tune and the timing will get played with once I change the break-in oil.

Still, with 6-year-old 215-65-15 well-used michelin radials on the back of this thing traction is only a dream.

Otherwise car looks like a well worn car that sat in a shed since 1983 (which it did)

Default 69 GTO

I have been waiting to post on this thread, but couldn't meet the 'qualifiers'.. until yesterday.

462 ci
Eagle rotating assy, Ross pistons
Edelbrock 310 cfm CNC ported for Custom Comp Cam hyd roller 230/236 112 lobe sep .565/.570 lift
Port matched Edelbrock Performer RPM
Manley 4130 Chrome Moly pushrods, PRW stainless steel roller rockers
Melling Oil setup, Canton Road Racing oil pan
Custom Cliff's Q-Jet
Oversized Ram Air Exh Manifolds, 2.5 mandrel bent exh system with X-pipe
TCI Super Street Fighter TH400, aluminum drive shaft, Moser 12-bolt posi with 33-spline axles.

I took the car to a local carb/dyno shop for some fine tuning and a couple of "light" pulls.
Results: 370 HP, 395 FT/LBS
The dyno numbers were at 5150 RPM. The motor only has 4 miles on it, didn't want to twist it up too much.
The HP curve was still climbing, about 20 hp per 500 rpm. Torque peaked at 4250 and was 3750 at 5150 rpm.

Cant wait to get it on the strip!!

Here's what my combination posted on 7/22/08 (above) is capable of.

From a standstill at 1/2 throttle. in 98 degree heat. With a dinky, restrictive, 8" air cleaner.

http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGruoBavQmM

I'm taking it to San Antonio Raceway tonight to see what it runs, which, given the open dif, 95+ degree temps, and restrictive intake, should be a worst-case scenario.

Any bets on what it will run as is?

FYI, the rear tires are now 5 year old Michelin Hydroedges - 215/70/15.

Here is mine. Just finished and started. Some parts are a little dated as the motor was built by me about five years back and stored. Just got back into it and got it going.

'74 455 Block bored 0.040" over.
'73 SD rods, forged Speed-pro pistons
Stock crank cut 0.030"/0.030", oil holes chamfered, polished, balanced
'76 6X-8 Heads, bowl-hogged and cleaned up, light pocket porting
2.11/1.77 valves/Comp 1.52 magnum rockers
Crane double springs and retainers 1.70" Installed height
Crane 234/242 .488"/.505" cam
Holley SD intake, 770 Holley avenger
Mellings M54D oil pump, full length windage tray
8 Qt Moroso oil pan
HEI converted to mag trigger, 6L MSD box
Holley red pump, 3.8" lines

Drove it around the block a couple time. Sounds bad-ass, jerks the nose of the car pretty hard. Too early to tell. Drained the old fuel but the tang and pickup keep clogging. Just replaced the tank and blew out the lines, finishing up shorly.
