Default Pontiac Powered 89 Silverado

Has anyone put a traditional Pontiac engine in a 1988-1998 Silverado? Just bought a mint condition 89 Regular cab/Regular Box with a 5 speed and 4.3 that I would love to make into a fun hotrod to keep my '62 GP company in the garage. I thought LS1 swap (fuel economy and drivability), but a real Pontiac motor sounds much more fun and would be something unexpected. Thanks!

Easy swap. Get mid 70s Pontiac big car engine mounts and brackets. Pic of a motor mount bolted to a cheby frame bracket.
