Not saying it's a bad deal, just that at 8 years old, most cars would be worth closer to 25% or less of the original sticker price. Enjoy your new addition to your fleet.... |

The car I bought has a perfect car fax, and a orange seat treatment with black accents. Perfect interior, 99 percent perfect paint, some kind of passport built in rader detector.. Its a great looking color combo on a relatively cheap car.Plus I bought it on a cold January Cleveland day. Im sure it would be more in the spring. Now granted, I always believed cars hit rock bottom price wise in about 10-12 years old, but to find a dirt cheap 13k mile one in a good color wouldn't be easy. This car also has a "RS" package with full gages, and what they call an "Orange " package with bright orange brake calipers and orange "valve covers-"

Due to the low mileage and condition, this Camaro probably had a 20 - 25% premium on it. Per KBB.com - the fair market value range for a black 2SS Convertible with 13,500 mile is $19,477 - 21,814. So, it was a decent deal per the "experts". |

Personally I liked the car enough to buy it , Going in to negotiations I knew the low value was 19400,{My cousin is a Mazda dealership owner}. They were asking 23000. I paid up for condidtion and color rarity. Ad in the RS and orange rotor and "valve" color package and your right there. Needless to say, this will be an upgrade from my AMC Pacer

I used to drive all over town to new car dealers negotiating to save $200, which I surely spent in gas and food- and made a $5 difference on the note. Now I decide what I will pay and as long as I get to that point I’m happy.
Here lately I have been buying cars 2-5 years old, and waiting for the colors/options I want to come up. I’m now willing to pay a little more to get what I want. For the first time ever, I paid asking price from a dealer last year. They had just gotten in a Hellcat in a color other than white, black or purple. Car was clean and I felt like I got a pretty fair deal. |

They gave us so much for our SRT8 as a trade in I was going to buy something that day. I guess more people buying in 30k bracket than 50k bracket in the used car business

Great car great engine, I had that LT-1 engine in my 94 Vette completely stock and lots of fun. The only negative and you probably already know is the Opti-Spark distributor. The 92-94's are not sealed 95 & 96 are sealed do not let it get wet NO PRESSURE WASHING at all. When changing upper radiator hose put something to direct the water away from it, I used roof flashing. Last but not least make sure the radiator hoses are in great shape if they blow water will get on the Opti-Spark and it costs $150-$300 depending where you buy it and 3 hours to change. So enjoy that bad boy and post some auto-cross video's.

The Camaro preceded the Firebird and was the car to copy. The Firebird ended up being a bit gaudy looking

One thing my car doesn't have is the original window sticker. Does anyone have any idea of how long a dealer or zone office would hang on to original paperwork? My car is a 2012. Thanks

The 1LE package was designed for the SCCA racing with upgraded performance features. The 1LE was essentially a factory lightweight race version of a Z/28. The 1LE package was available in the Camaro from 1988-99.
The 1LE package created a no frills, hardcore performance street/track car. Chevrolet produced only 135 1LE cars for the 1994 model year, and all were devoid of any power options, air conditioning, cruise control, T-tops, and fog lamps. This was meant to create the lightest possible car to improve handling.

We had HPDE track days booked for the start of the year - but they all got cancelled due to COVID. Even Autocross was delayed several months but we've competed in as many events as we can this year. Car is still running strong - only things it's needed is oil changes and tires;

Great to see it doing what it was born to do.
Back in the 90s when I was doing a lot of Autoxing, all the Z's at the big SCCA Regional events were 1LEs.
