Default Crank Trigger Question

Ok, I'm new to installing a crank trigger. I set the balancer at 30* timing which is where i plan on starting qith the tune up. Then adjusted the magnetic pick up to line up with one if the magnets on the balancer. Is that how its done? Seems right but just wanted to make sure I didnt miss something.

That’s how I did mine. I also phased the rotor. Then verified timing with a light.
