Thanks. What did the car weigh with you?

I honestly don’t remember. Maybe around 3250-3300? Sheet metal was all factory except a glass hood and front bumper. Interior was all stock except rear seats removed and 2 plastic front race seats. Aero space brakes all 4 corners, bogart rims, 28x10.5 et street rear tires. Stock fuel tank replaced with a 8-gallon or so fuel cell. 200 pound driver. You have some ss’ers running bottom 9’s w iron heads now.

The engine was published in Pontiac Enthusiast in the July/August 1999 issue. Kiel Embery, Aussie guy, was the previous owner. Here is a copy of the article, it's the small engine (609hp back then). Only change is now I have 1150, shift @ 6000 rpm and 91 octane.

That was a great article thanks for posting. Any idea what happened with the 455 as far as track times?

No idea. I don't remember who the owner of the 455 was. We had installed the 400 into the 70 T/A about three months prior to the article coming out. Pete wanted to surprise Kiel and he did. Kiel got the magazine in the mail and read the article and was totally blown away!

Ted,
The small engine in that article is different than the spec I have. CR, head cfm, and cam specs are 3 things that jump out at me.

You are correct. After the first post, I decides to dig out the magazine article and check how good my memory was. Although close, I was a little off, and that is why I posted the article to correct my errors.

Thank you everyone for your information. I believe I have added it all to the list. If I have missed anything, typed something in wrong, or you would like anything updated please let me know.

Maybe making this list will motivate some people to break out the old parts and put them back to work.
