Default Oooops - did I just go into the scrap ArmaSteel business?

Found a 4" crank on CL for a good price - guy even dropped it off.

But, not paying attention closely, it looks like a double row sprocket is pinned on there pretty good.

Any tips for tickling the key out so I can pop the gear off?

Thanks!

I'm confused about "pinned". The key goes into the recessed cut in the crank snout and the gear slides on to the crank and over the key, and removal is the reverse. Even if it appears to be really stuck in place, a large gear remover should make quick work of it. Simply use something like a spare cam washer between the threaded puller shaft and the tip of the crank so it doesn't sink into the threads of the crank and bugger them up.
