If you care about cornering and braking, you want short, stiff springs.

If you care about drag racing, you want tall, soft springs.

Either way can get you the static ride-height you want. The vehicle will drive very differently, though.

Most newer "sporty" cars tend toward stiffer/shorter. Most older, "floaty" cars tended toward taller/softer.

Like others said, aluminum spacer, ratio is 2:1. I did this on my 68 Firebird, lift was exactly 2:1.
